Rev. Dr. Louie Albert, SJ
Louie Albert has obtained doctorate in Sociology fromGandhigramCentral University, Gandhigram, Tamil Nadu, and India. He is the Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Loyola College, Chennai, India. He was the head of the Department of Service Learning.
Earlier, he also served as the Country Director, Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) India. He has travelled to Sri Lanka, Kenya, Philippines, Rome, Germany, Geneva, Spain for conferences, seminars, and Refugee-Migrants-Internally Displaced works. He has conducted research on Refugees, Dalits, Migrants, (Marginalized group in India) and Tribals.
He initiated many interventions in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and India as the Regional Director of Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS), South Asia. He participated in the meetings organized by UNHCR, New Delhi.
He is a Jesuit belonging to Jesuit Chennai Province.
